my husband likes big portions (dont they all) but instead of giving him extra now he tends to eat the leftovers which suits him fine!
this meant the meat wasnt wasted and the food they were going to have for lunch was saved for another day.I make my own garlic butter (minced garlic and butter so easy and cheap) And then slice the baguettes and put the butter in to make my own garlic bread. Much nicer than a cheap garlic baguette and you can put as little or as much garlic in as you like. For snacks (I'm also a cm) my lot love pancakes (6 value ones for 29p) with fruit, yogurt (value for 30p) with fruit, crackers or breadsticks with cheese along with fruit, tinned custard (value for about 20p) with fruit, toast and fruit and we do alot of baking (can make 6 good size cupcakes with 100g butter, 100g sugar, 100g plain flour and two eggs).any pasta dish can be very cheap and filling Our fave is maccarroni cheese Just pasta cheese sauce and a tin of sweetcorn mixed in for a bit of veg or a tin of cheap pasta sauce with chopped ham, sweetcorn and onions Baked potatoes (most supermarkets do 4 for 50p or 60p) with fillings.
I love just beams and cheese with mine and that can be really cheap as you danger value beans for 19p a tin if you need too.
Pasta (value bag for 25p) with an onion, some garlic and a carton of passata. If you get any reduced meat you can chuck that in too. I buy the value frozen sausages and actually really like them.
